Discovering your creative style is an exciting journey filled with challenges and adventures. In this course, I'll guide you in creating hand monotypes using various techniques. Together, we will transform your ideas, doodles, and sketches into original monotypes in ink and in other materials. Let’s unleash your imagination through this captivating method.
I will be teaching you how to use collage on monotypes as well how to apply oil pastels, and other fun materials. You will be transferring your unique sketches by using wax paper which I will show you in the videos. There will be four videos in this course. You will explore, experiment and freeform your pieces.
So, what is a monotype? A monotype is a one-of-a-kind print made by applying ink to a flat plate, such as a plexiglass sheet. You’ll create stunning images by drawing, scratching, wiping, or brushing in either an additive or subtractive way. Once your design is ready, the plate transfers the ink to paper using a printing press, like an etching press.
But in this course we will embrace the beauty of this unique method by creating monotypes by hand using wax paper.
